Eddie Lewis: 'Daily Routines'
'Daily Routines'by Eddie Lewis, is a collection of seven routines designed for trumpet playersof all levels. The routines are based on the concept of his first bookcalled the 'Physical Trumpet Pyramid'.
AIR, the bottom level:
Each group start with the following comment: 'Always remember to do air exercises before you begin your lip buzz'
In 'Physical Trumpet Pyramid' a whole chaptercalled AIR, gives 5 examples of different air exercises.
The routine includes:
- Lip Buzz
- Mouthpiece Buzz
- Long Tones
- Lip Slurs
- Articulation Studies
- Multiple Tonguing
- Tonalization Studies
The routines progress in length, difficulty andrange. 'Group One' is the easiest routine and 'Group Seven' is the most advanced.
'Group One' is limited to the range between tuning 'C' and low 'F#' while 'Group Seven' covers a range of three octaves, from low 'F#' to the 'G' above high 'C'.
